Soquel
|
The Congregational Church of Soquel, built in 1870.
The congregation had organized two years earlier. Yankee immigrants to
Spanish--speaking California shunned the Adobe buildings of the Californio
residents, preferring the New-England style architecture of their former
home. Their building is one of the prettiest examples of New-England style
architecture in the county.
